Hey guys, welcome to the Sioux Falls blog. Here, you'll find updates on the band's progress in the big city as well as whatever random videos, songs etc. (unrelated to Sioux Falls) we feel will brighten your day. In the event that you, blog reader, possess no prior knowledge of Sioux Falls and have accidentally stumbled upon this site searching for information regarding the city who's phonetically immaculate name we bear, here's the lowdown.
1. Sioux Falls was born and raised in the warm, cosy town of Bozeman, Montana. When Sioux Falls was about a year old we put together our first EP- The Ace House Tapes. Recorded with the help of Ron Sanchez, this EP functions as the only physical documentation of our existence. Here it is:
The Ace House Tapes by Sioux Falls
Although brief, we hope the EP serves as a pretty solid representation of us as a band and while there are certainly things about it we might have, in retrospect, changed, for now, we're more than happy with it.
2. 1/2 of Sioux Falls recently moved to Portland, Oregon in hopes of acquiring a larger audience. The other half of the band will be arriving here in September.
Sub-Point A. Although Sioux Falls can, presently, only be expressed, mathematically, as 2 halves, this does NOT in any way imply we are a 2 piece. Plain and simple, Sioux Falls needs a drummer. Our past drummers have been eminently talented musicians who've played key roles in our band however we have parted ways with both of them and the remaining members of the band are, now, looking to graduate from halves to thirds.
3. If you've casually perused the sonics of our EP and find yourself thinking "Hey these guys are actually kinda cool. I, being an avid fan of social networking, would love to 'like' them on a social networking site of my choice," than these links are for you-

Any likes, listens etc. would be super greatly appreciated, not only because they would make us feel warm and fuzzy inside (which they would) but because we are a part of this website- The Deli Magazine
The Deli Magazine is not only an awesome music blog, but is also responsible for what is, arguably, the most legit underground chart system in The United States. Each genre, has its own chart. Each sub-genre of said genre also has its own chart. All these charts feed into the massive unnamed chart and the top 20 artists are prominently displayed on the main page (the top 300 artists are kinda prominently displayed on another page). For example, one of the main genres is "indie-pop." Of the 58 "indie-pop" artists in Portland, there are 9 "lo-fi" artists. Both the genre and the sub-genre have their own respective charts which are fed into the 1 mega chart and the most popular indie-pop bands probably reside somewhere in the top 300 (mega chart). Sioux Falls is classified as a "Post-Punk" band. We are the 9th most popular band on the Post-Punk Chart. Post-Punk is one of the 6 genres that fall under the "Indie" umbrella and of the 111 "Indie" bands, Sioux Falls holds the 75th slot. That seemed super confusing even while I was writing it so: Sioux Falls is currently (I have no idea why) the 75th most buzzed about "Indie" Artist in Portland. The charts are informed by the # of hits, listens, mentions a given band has received on the most prominent music websites i.e. Facebook, Myspace, Soundcloud, Last.fm, random blogs etc. Getting back to my original point, this means that every "listen" or "like" or mention we get on one of those websites (I'm sure there are tons of others), helps us move up the charts thus, increasing our visibility in this gigantor, overcrowded music scene.
So that's that. If you like our music, maybe your friends will too so why not tell them about it? Also, if you want to check out some more cool bands from Montana go here: The Music's Friends Club. Also also, if you want to check out some super sick electronic beats go here: Wet Salty Romance Explosion (that's right). Thanks everybody, hopefully I can be pretty consistent about updating this blog and I promise it'll get more exciting when Fred (the bass master) gets here and we can be a band proper. Thanks guys, see ya soon.
