The Husband unexpectedly came home for lunch yesterday. I am thankful that I wasn't doing something I shouldn't have been. He made us grilled cheese & tomato sandwiches.
While he was standing across from me at my work table, he made this little arrangement of objects that were just hanging out on my table. The Husband is simply genius at placing objects in a space. I am rather talented at it, but I often acquiesce to his considerable gifts.
Be careful of mentioning that you are attracted to something while visiting Post Apocalyptic Bohemia, you might just go home with it. Talented artist/gilder Tad stopped by last week & he went home with our 4 dark brown leather & chrome office style chairs. The chairs had been used in my work space & in The Husband’s studio. 2 chairs upholstered by The Husband, & placed in the dining room, are now at my work table. The Husband chose a pair of teak chairs to now be at the dining table. The chairs are from Bamboo Craftsman Company, a neighboring store of The Husband’s shop- Boys’ Fort. I like the look & the comfort & Junior seems to agree.
I received a gobble of good graces yesterday. After suffering an incident of Deep Venous Thrombosis in 2010, I have had more than 2 years of taking Warfarin, a drug that requires a blood test each week. After a series of consults with my M.D., the Asian Doogie Howser, I am now going off the medication. Only 2 months ago, I was taking 4 meds a day, including anti-anxiety, anti-depression drugs, I now take nothing. I am back at the gym & yoga. with the icing on this cake- I have lost 6 pounds in 4 weeks.
For a decade I worked 50+ hour weeks with a boss that often thwarted my challenging & creative work. In my new life as a Stay-At-Home Mom, I have never been as peaceful, peppy & playful. I feel more authentically myself than at any time of my life. I am living the Summer of 2012 as if it is my last, which it just could be, full of plants, music, books, dogs, bikes, beer, True Blood, Summer Olympics & sharing it all with a most interesting cast of characters.
The Husband’s shop- Boys’ Fort, located in our neighborhood’s business district, is not losing money & is attracting attention to his design services. He sold a piece of his art, a personal favorite of mine, last weekend.

Just for the present, my existence is bright, blissful & blessed. Better still, for the first time in half a decade, I am not living with the dread of the other shoe dropping. I wish for all the readers of Post Apocalyptic Bohemia, a nice big dose of the same.
