Evelyn Lozada of Basketball Wives releases a statement on the assault allegations. In case you didn’t know, Chad Johnson, Evelyn’s husband of a month, is accused of head-butting her during an argument. Chad Johnson has since been arrested and released from jail. He has also lost his job as wide receive for the Miami Dolphins, and his reality show with wife Evelyn has been dropped from Vh1.
Evelyn has released a statement surrounding the assault, and you can read it below:
It is with great sadness and much trepidation that I release this statement addressing the domestic violence incident that happened this past Saturday. I am deeply disappointed that Chad has failed to take responsibility for his actions and made false accusations against me, it is my sincere hope that he seeks the help he needs to overcome his troubles. Domestic violence is not okay and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well. I'm grateful to my family, friends and fans for the outpouring of support during this difficult time.
I know this is a hard time for Evelyn, so I am not going to get on my soap box. I am genuinely concerned about her pain. 1) But this revelation about violence should have come months ago. It was funny when Jen was slapped in the face. But actually it was never funny. It was all just sad and tragic. 2) Never give a man a license to cheat on you, set some limits and have a standard. You are worth it!!! 3) Lastly, don’t dismiss your friends as jealous when they are genuinely looking out for your best interest against a man known to have fleas.
