Dancing With the Stars alum and Olympic hopeful Hope Solo almost saw her 2012 Olympic dreams fade away. The U.S. soccer player tested positive for a prohibitive substance during a drug test during a time of non-competition. However, it turns out the substance in question was legally prescribed to her by a physician for premenstrual issues.
The stunning athlete worried when tests came back positive for the drug called Canrenone. It is a diuretic often prescribed for issues like here. However it is also one of the many drugs prohibited under the anti-doping rules of the USADA Protocol for the Olympic and Paralympic Movement Testing and the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).
When the stunning dark-haired beauty became aware that Canrenone fell into that group, she made the proper authorities aware of the issue. Then she cooperated with the USADA to prove her innocence in the matter. She provided them with the needed documentation and testimony needed to assure them she had no intent to use the drug to enhance her athletic performance.
Apparently, Hope Solo's proof was impressive. A formal warning got issued to Solo, but the soccer player was not banned from participating in the Olympics. She reports she can't wait to represent the USA in London this summer.
