27 Marchant Ave., a 7-bedroom Cape Cod mansion near the Kennedy's Hyannis Port compound, has been purchased by country star Taylor Swift.

A Barnstable property right next to the Kennedy family compound is the new vacation home of country star Taylor Swift. The waterfront mansion sold for less than half its initial asking price, two years ago.

On Friday, WHDH-TV reported Swift, 22, bought a mansion adjacent to the Kennedy's vacation spread, which is in Hyannis Port. Swift has been dating Conor Kennedy, son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the late Mary Richardson Kennedy, for a matter of months.

Real estate listing records show the house, 27 Marchant Ave., sold for $4.9 million on Aug. 3.

The Colonial-style house has 13 rooms, with seven bedrooms and 5 full baths over 4,440 square feet on 1.1 acres. Built in 1928, it was originally listed in April, 2010 for $13.5 million. As the house sat on the market for two years, the asking price fell four times, resting at $4.9 million in March.

Cape Cod real estate agent Bob Kinlin had handled the listing for the prior owner, listed as Robert Spalding Coleman Jr. The property had reportedly been in the same family since its construction more than 80 years ago.

Kinlin, of Robert Paul Real Estate, did not immediately return a message left at his Osterville, Mass. office.
