Russell Brand's new tattoo

Russell Brand has a new tattoo. The ex-addict (to heroin and alcohol) was spotted barefoot in Los Angeles with some new ink on his right forearm. The tattoo reads "Lord, make me a channel of thy peace" followed by a cross. His latest tat is an adaptation of the Catholic Prayer of Saint Frances and can be found in the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). The actor has been sober for over a decade. He discusses his battle with drugs and alcohol in Russell Brand: From Addiction to Recovery, the documentary will air on August 16th on BBC Three.

This is certainly not the first permanent decoration that the comedian adorned his body with. He and ex-wife Katy Perry got matching tattoos after their engagement. After their amicable divorce, Russell is now dating Isabella Brewster. The new couple are planning on renting a home together in Los Angeles.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand got married in October of last year and ever since, the couple has faced break up rumours. These rumours have increased over the past couple of months, since Katy and Russell spent a lot of time apart due to their busy schedules. However, when gossip of a 'trial separation' started, Katy lashed out. In a tweet she says, "Just cause we don't flaunt our relationship doesn't mean there's something wrong w/it. Privacy is our luxury. #tabloidsrtrash #gossipisgross"

Russell, 36, supported his wife, 26, with a tweet of his own. His tweet read, "You tell em Mrs Brand! In Britain we're currently dismantling the scum media so I'm not tuned in to their brain-farting."

Katy has been working on her California Dream world tour and Russell has been busy promoting Rock of Ages in Miami, causing the couple to spend time apart quite a lot.
